Massage Therapy: Relaxing and opening the body

Massage I began my healing work in 1974 learning the practice of Shiatsu massage, or acupressure. Following the same meridians used in acupuncture, the channels are encouraged to open, allowing blood and lymph to flow more easily. Over time, I have incorporated various techniques of massage and physical manipulation. Through touch, I am able to determine what areas are blocked, and then with acupuncture needles, we further harmonize the body energy.

Receiving massage is an act of letting go and allowing ourselves to receive and relax. Stress relief from being touched can lower heart rate, blood pressure, cortisol levels, as well as insulin. It improves circulation and increases flexibility and range of motion.
